Why did you decide to go to beauty school?
After leaving Tennessee, I returned home to Orlando and went to see my family hairstylist for a little TLC. While catching up, I told her I had started school for psychology but realized my heart wasn’t fully in it. She looked at me and said I was “too creative to be chatting with people in an office all day” and suggested I consider cosmetology instead. Five years later, here we are.
What do you love about being a stylist?
What drives me most as a stylist is the reaction I see from my clients when their service is complete. Whether it’s a simple bouncy blowout or a full transformation, seeing the final result and the joy on their face is what makes this career so rewarding for me.
What career goal are you working towards?
This is a question I was asked during my interview at the Aveda Institute, and my answer has stayed the same ever since. I’ve always said that one day I want to own a salon and be able to educate and uplift the stylists around me.
Since finding Mosaic Hair Studio & Blowout Bar and learning their values, that vision has only grown stronger. It’s fueled my drive to continue growing as a stylist, perfect my craft, and eventually share that knowledge with others.
What 3 hair products can’t you live without?
Ooh, I love this question! My must-haves are Color Wow Dream Coat (buh-bye Florida humidity and frizz—hello gorgeous, tousled locks!), K18 AirWash, because we all need a good dry shampoo between wash days, and last but definitely not least, texture spray.
